Lorac 3D Liquid Lustre…

April 19, 2011

After admiring Jennifer Lopez’ beautifully soft shimmering eye make up at the American Idol audition stages, I went searching for a product to try and recreate her look and let me tell you it wasn’t as easy as it sounds.

After trying numerous loose pigments and fine glitters, myself and my make up artist friend @Ornagh9 came to the conclusion that it probably wasn’t a dry product that was used as everything we tried was either too gold or silver, or reflected green light.  We were searching for something much more subtle with a white base, when we stumbled across the Lorac stand in Ulta and one lone shimmer product…

Lorac 3D Liquid Lustre

Priced at $16, Lorac say; “This long-lasting liquid shimmer can be applied over eyeshadow or worn alone on eyes and cheeks for luminous, prismaticm three-dimensional sparkle and shine”.

Simply shake to activate then use the dropper to dispense a tiny amount of liquid on the back of your hand or a palette then use your finger or a brush to pat this on your eyelids.

The best thing about this product? No fall down!! So quick and easy, you don’t need a primer, base or any kind of mixing medium…this adheres and dries immediately and is buildable, no mess.  I’d definitely repurchase this, BUT I doubt I’ll ever need to, a little goes a long long way.

Perfect for eyes, maybe a bit too shimmery for cheeks and I’m yet to try on the lips but I think a dab in the centre of the bottom lip would look amazing in photos.

Still trying to recreate the rest of JLo’s look…might be trying a while yet.

Lovely unflattering pic of JLo there! She has stunning make up in fairness. Is Lorac available in Ireland?

Haha I know! Had to get a shot with her eyes closed. Unfortunately not, picked this up while in America but I’m searching for a way to buy online and will let you know.
