A Tartan Tale…

November 23, 2010

Could I resist MAC’s holiday collection?  No, of course not.  Wasn’t wowed by the theme and packaging at first this year, but it has really grown on me and I’m loving the cute tartan tin now that the pigment/glitter set comes in.

Here’s what I got…

5 Smokey Thrillseekers

Four 2.5g pigments and one 2.5g glitter for €37/£27.50/$32.50. So yes, as usual, we’re being ripped off in Ireland after the currency conversion…shock horror!  I still think it works out good value though, as the full size pigments are crazy prices gram for gram, especially since MAC changed the packaging making them much smaller (from 7.5g to 4.5g) but kept the high price…however, that’s a different post entirely.

Here they are swatched with flash…

L-R: Reflects Blackened Red, Dark Soul, Blue Brown, Jigs & Jive, Naked

If you read my hunt for the perfect nude post, you’ll already have seen this lipstick…

The Faerie Glen

Hugely disappointed that the individual lippies don’t have the limited edition gold packaging like this one from the Vain and Glorious Lip Bag…

Mellow Mood

But, it’s a nice shade all the same…nothing wow on me, but my MAC-for-life friend Ornagh has been converted from her usual fave Myth, so it’s worth a try…looks great on some skin tones!

Anything caught your eye from the Christmas collection?
